Some of it, yes.
Start with the workflow.
Grow has forms, follow-up, automation, and reporting. The question is whether your setup supports the way your firm works.
Five things your intake should handle.
Check these against a real inquiry. Open any card for a practical test.
Different cases. Different paths.
Does each inquiry reach the right form and person?
What to test
Walk through a probate inquiry and a guardianship inquiry. Check which form, follow-up, and staff handoff each receives, and where someone still needs to make a choice.
Clio Grow supports separate intake forms and custom automated workflows. That is different from proving that every answer can automatically trigger the exact path your firm needs. Do not assume you need one oversized form for every case type. Clio’s form documentation ↗
Follow-up that fits.
Does the message match the inquiry and its stage?
What to test
Show the actual message a probate prospect receives. Then show the guardianship version. Check the wording, timing, and steps that stop follow-up when someone replies.
Grow supports editable email templates and sequences. You can write different messages for different situations. The practical question is whether the right message reaches the right person at the right step. Clio’s email documentation ↗
A clear view of conversion.
Can you see which inquiries become clients?
What to test
Reconcile last month’s inquiries, qualified prospects, signed clients, and revenue. Identify which of your firm’s stages require additional tracking.
Grow includes matter and lead-source revenue reports, plus conversion reporting by source and matter type. Revenue reporting can use connected Clio Manage data. Before replacing reporting, check the data and reports already available. Clio’s reporting documentation ↗
Email that reaches people.
Can you trace and resolve a failed message?
What to test
Ask your email administrator and Clio support to review a failed message, its sending account, and authentication results. Avoid guessing at the cause.
A message landing in spam does not establish a product-wide delivery failure. Grow allows a connected email account as well as its default sender. Diagnose the actual sending route and failed messages before deciding what needs to change. Clio’s sending-account options ↗
Changes your team can manage.
Can you update a step without rebuilding the process?
What to test
Change one real intake step during a demonstration. Confirm who can maintain it, what is configurable today, and what would depend on an outside connection.
Grow lets administrators build and edit automated workflows. Whether those controls meet your firm’s needs is a fit question; a vendor’s future roadmap cannot substitute for a capability you need today. Clio’s workflow documentation ↗
Better intake may not mean leaving Clio.
If Manage works for your practice, start by improving intake. A separate intake system with a tested connection is another option.

| Option | Cost | Who it may fit | What to account for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Clio Grow | Quote required; included in Elite Vendor pricing ↗ | Firms that want intake connected closely to Clio Manage | Test your actual routing, reporting, and maintenance needs. |
| GoHighLevel | Starter: $97/month; unlimited users Vendor pricing ↗ | Firms evaluating a configurable CRM and follow-up system | Budget for configuration, connections, usage, and any add-ons. It does not replace legal trust accounting. |
| Lawmatics | Quote required; three-user minimum on Essential and Premium Vendor pricing ↗ | Firms evaluating a legal-specific intake platform | Confirm total cost and which automations are included in the quoted plan. |
| Answering or intake service | Varies by provider and coverage | Firms whose immediate gap is answering and qualifying calls | Coverage still needs a documented handoff and follow-up process. |
| Improve the process around Grow | Internal time or an implementation engagement | Firms with unclear ownership, inconsistent steps, or incomplete setup | Requires mapping and documenting the work, then maintaining it. |
Published subscription pricing is not an implementation quote. Confirm billing terms, usage charges, and the features in your plan directly with each provider.
If your intake person were away for three weeks, could someone else pick it up from a document?
Not yet.Start with the process: steps, ownership, and handoffs.
Yes.Use that document to test your software. Check training and data gaps, too.
Common questions
How much does Clio Grow cost?
Clio does not list a standalone Grow price on the pricing page reviewed on 7 September 2026. It is included in Elite and offered as an add-on to Core and Signature. Ask for a written quote.
Can Clio Grow send different intake forms for different case types?
You can create separate form templates and choose forms in custom workflows. Test whether the routing and conditional behavior your firm needs can be automated in your setup; separate forms alone do not prove automatic branching.
Does GoHighLevel integrate with Clio Manage?
Zapier lists a Clio and LeadConnector integration. A connection needs configuration and testing for your specific workflow, including required fields, duplicate records, and failed transfers. Verify the available triggers and actions before relying on an automated handoff.
Should a small law firm leave Clio?
Not solely because intake is frustrating. First map the process and test your current configuration. If Clio Manage still fits the practice, changing or improving intake may be more proportionate than replacing the whole system.
Why does intake email from Clio Grow go to spam?
There is no single cause established here. Investigate the sending account, message authentication, sender reputation, and message content with your email administrator and Clio support. A spam complaint alone does not identify which system or setting caused it.
